“I was really intimidated by the idea of boxing. It just always looks like such an aggressive sport. When I first met Deniz he was so gentle he calmed my nerves right away. In the past, when I've had PTs, they always have all of these promises and gimmicks and talks on and on about how they're going to 'transform' me but Deniz didn't. He just listened and was supportive and never judged.
I don't think I would've stuck with boxing if it wasn't for Deniz. He has a way of explaining complicated things so you can understand easily. I know when I'm training with Deniz, he always has my best interest at heart. I always feel better after a session with him.
When I was training regularly, it helped stabilize not only my weight physically but my mental health. I love boxing training because it's not about punching as hard as you can (although sometimes it is!), it is also about the mental block and you have to think about every punch with a purpose. That's not something I've ever thought about before training with Deniz.
I love how different it is every time! The combinations, the steps, it is ALWAYS challenging no matter how long I've been doing it! I'm trying to get back into it a year postpartum but it really hasn't been the easiest...but Deniz again doesn't judge and pushes me just as far as he knows I can handle it.
